North Carolina Heritage Center

Housed on the 2nd floor, the Heritage Room is an excellent place to find the history of Pasquotank and Camden Counties. Or perhaps you would like to reminisce about your youth by browsing through our collection of high school yearbooks.   Or if you are interested in researching your family history the Heritage Room has a collection of over 2,990 items and two online databases that can assist you with your search.

The Heritage Room is open to the public the same hours as the library: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am to 6:30pm; Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 7:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

A microfilm reader is available in the Heritage Room. The price of copies is determined by the size of the paper:  letter and legal size is 10 cents per copy and 11 x 17 is 20 cents per copy.  Adjacent to the Heritage Room is a black and white copier.  Diagonally from the room is the computer lab.  Visitors may request a guest pass at the Information Services desk to use the computer lab.

Maps and yearbooks must be requested from the Information Services Desk.

We do not have lockers available. However, patrons are allowed to take their personal items in the Heritage Room.

We do not interlibrary loan the library's reference materials.

The library's parking lot is shared with other Pasquotank County departments, therefore parking is limited. The Elizabeth Street parking lot is for Staff only. The Colonial Avenue parking lot is for public use except for parking spaces 9 - 16. You are allowed to park on the street for increments of two hours.

Pasquotank County courthouse is located across the street from the library and the Register of Deeds is two short blocks away. The Family Research Society of Northeastern North Carolina is three blocks from the library.

For family members not interested in research, the Museum of the Albemarle and the Pasquotank Arts Council are within walking distance.
