How Do Patrons Place Holds

1. Using any internet computer, go to www.earlibrary.org.
2. Find the exact title you want by typing it into the search box and click GO.
3. Click on the PLACE HOLD button to the left of the title.
4. Enter your Patron ID Number (14-digit library card barcode without spaces)
5. Enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number), if you do not have or know your PIN please contact the circulation staff and they will assign you a PIN.
6. Click on the Submit Request button.

The screen will display whether the hold was approved (successfully placed). If unsuccessful, you will be notified to contact the library staff and they can assist you further. If you have overdue items or overdue fines of $5 or more you can not place holds. You can try to use the Patron Review feature to renew your overdue items. If you still cannot place a hold, please contact the circulation staff.

Note: An approved hold does not mean the item is waiting for you! You will be called when we receive your item.

What is a hold?

Patrons with a valid library card may place a hold/request through the online catalog. If you have not already set up a PIN for your account, you must first call the circulation desk at 335-2473.

What can I put on hold?

Holds may be placed on all items (except bookmobile, genealogy, and reference books).

Can I renew an item on hold?

Renewals are not permitted on titles that have holds on them.
